BOB MAURAIS, March 27/12:30
Seminar Topic: Spring is here, and so are the ticks!
Are you planning on spending time in your garden this spring and summer? Did you know that 75% of Lyme diseases cases are contracted within 100 feet of the home? Join Bob & Barb Maurais from Mainely Ticks for a timely discussion on how to better protect your family and pets from tick-borne diseases. Low-cost personal protection strategies and landscape modifications will be discussed. Free full color tick identification guides will be distributed to all who attend.
Bob Maurais currently serves as the President of Mainely Ticks, Inc., which has been protecting people, pets and properties in York and Cumberland counties from ticks and tick-borne illnesses since 2005. 2019 marks their 15th year of operations!
Bob is a retired educator, having taught Industrial Art for 31 years, 30 of which were with the Yarmouth School Department. In 1996, Bob was honored to represent all Maine educators as “Maine Teacher of the Year”.
Along with his wife Barbara, the two aspire to raise the level of education and awareness of tick-borne diseases at the community level. Together, they’ve hosted scores of educational seminars and workshops, distributed over 70,000 tick identification guides, bookmarks and supporting educational literature, and most recently, launched their Mainely Ticks Franchise Development initiative looking to expand their reach throughout Maine, New England and beyond.
